Frequently asked questions
Can I choose any hospital for every treatment?
Yes, you can choose your hospital and doctor. But note: not all treatments are reimbursed 100% in every hospital.
The number of hospitals and doctors you can go to depends on your insurance.
- With Basis Start and Basis Zeker, you can go to healthcare providers with whom we've made agreements.
- With Basis Exclusief, you can go to any hospital or care provider.
Through our medical care provider search tool (zorgzoeker) you can find out which hospital or doctor you can go to.
What is a collective healthcare insurance?
A health insurance policy that you take out through your work. Together with your employer, Zilveren Kruis contributes to your health, assuring you of quality care with an insurance policy that suits you and your family situation. It includes extra reimbursements that are specifically tailored to your work, allowing you to focus on your health. Furthermore, you receive a discount on your supplementary insurance.
How is my premium calculated?
The level of your premium depends on a number of things:
The type of insurance
Each insurance package has its own price. With Basis Start you receive 70% reimbursement of the average contracted rate at care providers without a contract. With Basis Zeker this is 75%. In addition to the basic insurance, you could choose a supplementary or a dental insurance. Different combinations have different premiums.
The level of your excess
The higher the excess, the more discount you get on your insurance premium. Please note, a higher excess means you would have to pay more out of your own pocket if you use care from your basic health insurance.
Collective discount
When you take part in collective healthcare insurance, via your employer for example, you get discount on your insurance premium for basic insurance, supplementary and dental insurances. The level of discount depends on your collective.
