Example letter no valid residence permit

You received a letter in Dutch. Find the translation of the letter below to help you understand what the letter is about.

Dear Mr./Mrs./Miss./Ms. [Surname],

Thank you for submitting your application for our healthcare insurance. Everyone who lives in the Netherlands has a residence permit. This shows that you have Dutch nationality or what your residence status is, which can be proven with a valid identity card or residence permit. Unfortunately, we did not find a valid residence permit.

Without a valid residence permit we cannot accept you for healthcare insurance

To check this, we use the information provided by the Basisregistratie Personen (BRP). The BRP and the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) do not always have the same information. The IND must provide the BRP with the correct information.

It is important that you contact the IND

The IND provides the BRP with the correct information. You can contact them on +31 88 043 04 03 and they will check with you and correct any data if necessary. After that, you do not need to do anything as we will use the data from the BRP.

It is also important that your residence permit is updated in the BRP within 4 weeks

Within these 4 weeks, we will automatically accept you for the health insurance and we will send you a policy sheet within 10 working days after receiving your application.

If your residence permit is not updated within a 4 week period?

Your application to the healthcare insurance will lapse. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept you on our healthcare insurance scheme.

Can we help you with anything else? Or do you have any further questions?

You can find more information on Service & contact. Log in to Mijn Zilveren Kruis with your DigiD and SMS code to find or modify your personal details (in Dutch only).

Yours sincerely,
