Basis Start
Do you want an affordable basic health insurance? Then Basis Start is a good choice. With this policy, you receive 100% coverage at all contracted hospitals and all healthcare providers with a contract. The Basic Start costs €153.95 per month in 2026.
Where can you go with Basis Start?
Choose from all contracted healthcare providers
With an arranged care insurance (naturapolis), you can go to healthcare providers with whom we've made agreements. We make arrangements with each other what care is provided and at what price. We call these contracted healthcare providers. You don't have to pay the costs incurred with contracted healthcare providers (link in Dutch). We will deal with that directly with your healthcare provider. If you have a naturapolis and go to a provider without a contract, we will reimburse up to 70% of the average contracted for which we purchased the care (link in Dutch).
Other healthcare providers
Physiotherapist, podotherapy or an independent treatment centre is what we mean with other healthcare providers. You'll receive 100% reimbursement at a healthcare provider with a contract according to your basic insurance terms and conditions. Please, keep in mind that the excess applies to most reimbursements.
Visiting a non-selected hospital or non-contracted care provider? You will receive 70% of the average contracted for which we purchased the care (link in Dutch). The rest is out-of-pocket.
Some aids must be ordered online
Visual aids, mobility aids and nursing and care items for use in bed are only fully reimbursed (100%) if you order them online. You must order these from suppliers we have a contract with. If you order these aids from a supplier we have not contracted, we will reimburse up to 70% of the average rate we pay for these products—regardless of whether you ordered them online or offline.
Other aids are fully reimbursed (100%) when purchased from any contracted supplier. If you buy an aid from a non-contracted supplier, you will receive up to 70% of the average rate we pay. For these other aids, it does not matter whether you order online or in-store.
Mandatory excess
The mandatory excess applies to most reimbursements covered by basic insurance, including terms and conditions. Check the complete terms and conditions in advance.
