Under the Health Insurance Act (Zorgverzekeringswet), all residents of the Netherlands
are obligated to take out a health care insurance. This health care insurance covers standard medical
expenses such as General Practitioner, hospitals costs or pharmaceutical costs.
Each year the government determines what is covered by the national health care scheme.
We, as insurer, can of course advise the government, but they will make the final decisions.
